Ruffles. Bold Neons. 70’s Wallpaper Prints. These are what were trending on the 2020 runway. Now that fashion month has come to end, here are a few personal favorites that showcase what you can expect to see this spring. Welcome to what’s next.
1. Crochets

Crochet has stepped onto the runway with a modern twist this season. Any business women can spice up her work attire with a crotched business tube top, or a dress that breathes while taking a walk in the park. It’s not just grandma who has remembered this 19th century trade.
2. Highlighter-Inspired Neon

Highlighter is a HIT, and designers are using every hint to compliment all types of skin tones. Jacquemus calmed it down with the lighter hues, which is perfect for a spring feel. While Off White and Valentino ramped it up for a real pop of color.
3. Bold Stripes

I owned a bold strip blazer that was a soft loose fabric it was complimenting to any outfit. I had it for 10 years, through every season! I haven’t seen it come around for a while and I AM HERE FOR IT!
4. Playful Polka Dots aka Sweet Spots

Designers gravitated more towards polka dots this year instead of floral, because florals have over saturated the market during Spring. Polka dots give us a fresh new pattern. Make SURE you have some polka dots in your attire this upcoming season.
5. Ruffles 4 Days

The more the merrier when it comes to ruffles. Bold and colorful or sleek and sexy. Any personality can find themselves in a ruffle. There were so many ruffles on the runway, I couldn’t pick a few favorites for this category. A new way to make a big statement.
6. Flats
Its always nice to have a stylish option when it comes to comfort. Heels are so much fun, but how practical is a heel at an outdoor party in the spring? Alberta Ferretti, Adeam, and Dion Lee show us the way for a cool bohemien gladiator, strappy suede flat, and leather top knot sandal.
7. 70’s Archives

The 70’s were a very influential time. Now they’re back and bolder than ever. Bringing the patterns back that I have seen on the walls and upholstery of my grandmothers house is making me nostalgic, and slightly jealous I didn’t get to experience the area. However, with the runway today I get to have a taste.
8. Bra Tops

Spring time is filled with crisp mornings and warmer afternoons. Best way to deal is layering. This season we have been advised by the fashion experts to take it to the next extreme; Bra Tops with blazers and cardigans. If you live where it is hot all year round, Lavin would advise you to just wear your bra top all day long. Making undergarments casual.
9. Hot Pants

Not just for the volleyball court, but for the everyday errand. Take it from Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajowski who are caught in hot pants on their days off. Not everyone was on board for the biker shorts when they came onto the scene, but I loved it. I love even more that fashion says hell with it, how about we make them even shorter?
10. Ribbed Sweater Dress

We ALL have to appreciate the look of a ribbed sweater dress.Why? because everyone owns one. Insider tip, what was found on the runway this year can also easily be copped at TJMaxx or Macy’s.
